Amish Ordnung
There are many Amish communities and districts spread over 25+ US states. All of these communities and different districts live by a set of rules. These rules vary to a certain degree from district to district. Anyway, these rules are called the Ordnung. Some are written down others are understood and assumed through tradition from generation to generation.
In general, the Amish Law (Ordnung) revolves around the church, how to live, how to act, how to dress, and how to be. It seems that either you follow all these rules and you are part of the Amish community, or you do not follow these rules and you are not part of the Amish community. The Ordnung is an extremely important part of Amish life.
