Should you pay to bowl per game or per hour?

Total price when paying for each game. If you choose to pay for each game, then this is the grand total you would have to pay for the time specified.



Total number of games per bowler in the time period you specified. If you pay by the hour, you may not have time to finish your last game. If you pay per game, you may go a little over the time you specified to finish the last game.



Yearly Shoe Rental cost This is how much you spend per year to rent bowling shoes. You may want to consider buying bowling shoes instead of renting them.

To see if you should pay by the hour or by the game of bowling simply choose the one with the lowest number between the hour and game price above.

Most bowling alleys charge about 5 times as much per the hour as they do by the game. Thus, if the game price is $5.00, then the hour price is usually about $25.00.

If you guys are serious bowlers and are there to bowl as fast as possible with no need to eat, drink or socialize, then the average time for one person to finish a game will be really low and it usually makes sense to rent the lane by the hour.

If your bowling time is a social event where bowling is just part of the package then you may be better off paying by the game. This way, you can enjoy eating, drinking, and talking and not worry about bowling to get full value for your money.

In conclusion, the faster you bowl, the more likely you are to save money by renting by the hour and the slower you bowl, the more likely you are to save money by paying per game.
