Fred here at the Research Maniacs office suggested we have a contest to see who could come up with the most word Palindromes. Of course, the obvious question from the rest of us was "What is a Palindrome?"

A word palindrome is a word that is spelled the same way backwards. If you, for example, spell the word racecar backwards, you will see that it spells racecar.

Palindrome comes from Greek where Palin means again and drome means direction. Thus, palindrome is not only used when referring to words. It can also refer to numbers, phrases, and sequences of all kinds of things such as dates and music.
