Who built The Taj Mahal?

Answer to: Who built The Taj Mahal?

Taj Mahal is located in India and it is a mausoleum (memorial building) in memory of Mumtaz Mahal. It is considered one of the greatest buildings ever made. The building took 21 years to build (1632 to 1653) and Abd ul-Karim Ma'mur Khan, Makramat Khan, and Ustad Ahmad Lahauri together with thousands of craftsmen built the Taj Mahal.

Some of the romantic staff of Research Maniacs find it less interesting to know the name of the architects that built the Taj Mahal, and more interesting to know why it was built. Mumtaz Mahal died in 1631 and was Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan's third wife.

Shah Jahan was stricken by the sudden death of his wife, the love of his life, and thus ordered Taj Mahal to be built.

When Jahan died in 1666, he was laid to rest next to Mumtaz Mahal inside Taj Mahal.
