What is a clear title?

A clear title means that the title has no defects. There is nothing that may prevent the property from being marketable. If there is a legal dispute or lien on the property it may not have a clear title. Items that may make a title not clear are called clouds on the title.

Your title company should find any clouds on the title. Furthermore, you should have Title Insurance to avoid future problems.
