Salmon Street Springs

Salmon Street Springs in Portland, Oregon

At Tom McCall Waterfront Park, at Salmon Street and Front Avenue, is Salmon Street Springs water fountain.

It has three different cycles called wedding cake, bollards, and misters. If you run through when it’s bollards, it makes your head hurt, because all the water is shooting into the middle.

Even though it has freezing water, running through it, don’t drink it! It’s chlorinated.

Can you believe that it recycles 4,924 gallons of water per minute? It was dedicated in 1988 and is popular in the summer, because it is a play fountain. So stop by and cool off!
