President Theodore Roosevelt was born in New York, New York on October 27, 1858 and grew up to become America’s twenty-sixth president.

He was a rancher and soldier before he became President of the United States at age 42. His place of primary affiliation was New York.

Theodore Roosevelt became president on Saturday, September 14, 1901 and left the office on Thursday, March 4, 1909. President Theodore Roosevelt was a member of the Republican Party and his vice president was Charles W. Fairbanks.

Theodore Roosevelt's nicknames include The Rough Rider, The Cowboy, Rough & Ready, T.R., Teddy Bear, The Lion, Teddy, The Hero of San Juan, and The Trust Buster.

Theodore Roosevelt is considered to be one of the best presidents.

He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1906 for his role as mediator in the conflict between Japan and Russia.

He was uncle to the future first lady Eleanor Roosevelt and a distant relative of her husband, Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

Teddy Bear is named after Roosevelt.

Theodore Roosevelt had a photographic memory and he craved attention.

After he lost the re-election, he went on an expedition to South America, where he contracted malaria. He died a few years later. Theodore Roosevelt was 60 years old when he died on January 6, 1919.
