When researching the largest cities in Virginia, Research Maniacs used two different criteria for determining the largest city in Virginia.

First, we looked at the population of all major cities in Virginia from the last census and sorted the cities accordingly.

Secondly, we looked at all the city maps in Virginia to find how much land area the cities cover and sorted the cities accordingly.

When we sorted the cities in Virginia by population, we found that Virginia Beach is the largest city in Virginia. The five largest cities in Virginia, sorted by population, are Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Richmond, and Newport News.

When we sorted the cities in Virginia by land area, we also found that Suffolk is the largest city in Virginia. The three largest cities in Virginia, sorted by land area, are Suffolk, Chesapeake, andVirginia Beach.
