Amish Education
Amish do not go to conventional public schools. They create their own schools in their own communities. School is taught in English and they learn basic math, writing, and reading. However, they also learn about farming, building, cooking, and other skills that are important to know in their primitive society.
Most Amish school children's education stops at 8th grade. However, informal education continues in the home where religion and strong family bonds are important.
Manual labor and little technology are used by the Amish. Therefore, learning old ways of farming, building, and cooking becomes important to learn for the younger generation in order to replace the elders.
