Why is breakfast important?
First of all, you haven't eaten in probably 8 to 10 hours so your body is hungry. If you wait longer, your body may go into "starvation mode". A body in starvation mode is obviously not functioning as well as when in normal mode.
Second, since you haven't eaten in a while, your body needs the fuel to make you as productive and energetic as possible.
Third, if you are trying to lose weight, keep in mind that skipping breakfast will cause your body to "preserve" fat because it thinks food is scarce. When you finally eat, your body will preserve that food as much as possible and you will not lose weight. Furthermore, you will be starving at lunch so you may end up eating more in that one meal than you would have if you had eaten a normal breakfast and lunch separately. Again, that's not good for your weight loss plans. You're sabotaging yourself twice.
Fourth, lack of food makes you irritable and tired, which obviously will make you less productive in the workplace or less receptive to learning in school.
So do you now understand why breakfast is important? Eat a healthy breakfast to lose weight, stay healthy, and be energetic and productive so you can accomplish your goals.
