How to move Chess pieces

This is how you move chess pieces

Here are instructions for how to move Chess pieces. You can probably memorize how to move the Chess pieces within the hour, but it may take a little longer to be a Chess master! Each Chess player has a total of 16 Chess pieces, but there are only six different kinds of pieces.

King - The King can move in any direction, but only one square at a time (except when Chess Castling). A King cannot move to set it self in check. A King cannot move next to the other King. Although the King's movements are not flexible, it is the most important piece, because you lose the game if you lose the King.

Queen - The Queen can move in a straight line horizontally, vertically, and diagonally. The Queen cannot jump, but she can move as far as she wants in a straight line if there are no obstacles.

Rook - You have two Rooks. A Rook can move horizontally and vertically. The Rook cannot jump, but it can move as far as it wants horizontally or vertically as long as there are no obstacles.

Bishop - The Bishop can move diagonally in any direction. The Bishop cannot jump. You have two Bishops. One starts on a white square and can only go diagonally on white squares, and one starts on black and can only go diagonally on black squares.

Knight - You have two Knights. A Knight is the ONLY Chess piece that can jump. The Knight can move two squares in any direction, followed by one square to the right or left. Its move is shaped like an "L" , two steps one way, then one step another way.

Pawn - You have a total of 8 Pawn pieces. A Pawn cannot jump. The first time you move a specific Pawn, it can move one or two squares forward. Subsequent moves by that same Pawn, can only be one square forward. The Pawn can also move one square diagonally forward, but ONLY if it is to capture an opponent's Chess piece. A Pawn cannot capture a Chess piece going forward. A Pawn also cannot go backward or sideways.
