What is Chess Pawn Promotion?
Yes, Chess Pawn Promotion is what it sounds like. A Pawn can get a promotion to become a Queen, Rook, Bishop, or Knight. For a Pawn
to get a promotion, it must make its way all the way to the other side of the Chess board.
The Pawn gets the promotion exactly when it lands on the first row of the opponent's side. If your Pawn gets a promotion, you can
choose whether it becomes Queen, Rook, Bishop, or Knight. Most people choose Queen, but any of the three other options are also available.
PS. Contrary to what many may think, you can promote a Pawn to something that has NOT been captured. Thus, it is perfectly within
the rules to have 3 Knights, or 2 Queens if a Pawn gets promoted.
