Palindrome dates are dates that are the same backward and forward.

In this research project, Research Maniacs created a list of palindrome dates that will occur or occurred in the 20th and 21st Century.

There are 76,049 dates between January 1, 1901 to December 31, 2100. We looked at all of them and came up with over 150 palindrome dates.

How did Research Maniacs create the Palindrome Dates database?

First, note that there are a few different ways of formatting a date. For example, day is first in Europe while month is written first in the US.

Furthermore, the first 9 months of the year can be written with one digit or two and the first 9 days of the month can be written with one or two digits. (For example, September can be 9 or 09.)

To create our Palindrome Dates database, we first created 200 years of dates in the following formats:

M/DD/YYYY
MM/D/YYYY
MM/DD/YYYY

D/MM/YYYY
DD/M/YYYY
DD/MM/YYYY

(D stands for Day, M stands for Month, and Y stands for Year.)

Then we took away the slashes in the dates. And lastly, we got our database by creating a formula that would single out every date sequence that would be the same sequence if it was reversed.
