Which kidney is higher?
Question: Which kidney is higher?
The human body has two kidneys that filter your blood from stuff
your body does not need. It deposits this waste into your urinary
bladder.
The two kidneys are located low in your rib cage on either side
of the spine.
The liver is asymmetrically located in between them and
leaning down on the right starting higher on the left.
This causes the left kidney to be higher than the right kidney.
See pictures of kidneys in relation to the liver below:
Interestingly, the left kidney is also usually a little bit larger
than the right kidney.
