Who built the Statue of Liberty?

Answer to: Who built the Statue of Liberty?

The construction of The Statue of Liberty or Statue of Liberty National Monument as we like to call it here in the Research Maniacs office, was completed in 1886 while President Grover Cleveland was president.

The statue was designed by a French sculptor named Frederic Auguste Bartholdi.

There are two parts to the Statue of Liberty - the pedestal the sculpture stands on and the sculpture itself.

The pedestal was financed and built with donations from the American people. The sculpture was financed and built in France. After it was built in France, it was shipped in pieces to New York where it was assembled.

In conclusion, Americans built the Statue of Liberty pedestal, and the French built the actual Statue of Liberty sculpture.
