Chinatown
Chinatown in Portland, Oregon
Did you know that there are actually very few Chinese people who live in Portland’s Chinatown? But during the early 1900s, there were a lot more Chinese people using the underground Shanghai
Tunnels that are under Chinatown.
The entrance to Chinatown is at NW Fourth Avenue at Burnside Street. The gate is colorful and has two lions on the sides. Amtrak train station and Greyhound bus station are located in Chinatown.
Portland’s Chinatown is smaller than other Chinatowns in other cities.
You can take tours of the underground tunnels and I hope to see you on a tour sometime soon.
