President Andrew Johnson was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on December 29, 1808 and grew up to become America’s seventeenth president.
He was a tailor before he became President of the United States at age 56.
His place of primary affiliation was Tennessee. Andrew Johnson became president on April 15, 1865 and left the office on March 4, 1869.
