President Franklin Pierce was born in Hillsborough, New Hampshire on November 23, 1804 and grew up to become America’s fourteenth president.

President Franklin Pierce was a member of the Democratic Party and his vice president was William R. King. His place of primary affiliation was New Hampshire.

Franklin Pierce became president on March 4, 1853 and left the office on March 4, 1857. Franklin Pierce's nicknames include Handsome Frank and Young Hickory of Granite Hills.

Pierce participated in the border war with Mexico and was a lawyer before he became President of the United States at age 48. Franklin Pierce was 64 years old when he died on October 8, 1869.
