used two different criteria for determining the largest city in
California.
First, we looked at the population of all major cities in California from the
last census and sorted the cities accordingly.
Secondly, we looked at all the city maps in California to find how much land
area the cities cover and sorted the cities accordingly.
When we sorted the cities in California by population, we found that
Los Angeles is the largest city in California. The five largest cities in
California, sorted by population, are Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco, and Fresno.
When we sorted the cities in California by land area, we also found that
Los Angeles is the largest city in California. The five largest cities in
California, sorted by land area, are Los Angeles, San Diego, California City, San Jose, and Bakersfield.
