When researching the largest cities in Michigan, Research Maniacs
used two different criteria for determining the largest city in
Michigan.
First, we looked at the population of all major cities in Michigan from the
last census and sorted the cities accordingly.
Secondly, we looked at all the city maps in Michigan to find how much land
area the cities cover and sorted the cities accordingly.
When we sorted the cities in Michigan by population, we found that
Detroit is the largest city in Michigan. The five largest cities in Michigan, sorted by population,
are Detroit, Grand Rapids, Warren, Sterling Heights, and Ann Arbor.
When we sorted the cities in Michigan by land area, we also found that Detroit is the largest city in Michigan.
