used two different criteria for determining the largest city in

last census and sorted the cities accordingly.
Secondly, we looked at all the city maps in Montana to find how much land
area the cities cover and sorted the cities accordingly.
When we sorted the cities in Montana by population, we found that
Billings is the largest city in Montana. The five largest cities in Montana, sorted by population,
are Billings, Missoula, Great Falls, Bozeman, and Butte.
When we sorted the cities in Montana by land area, we found that Anaconda is the largest city in Montana. The two largest cities in
Montana, sorted by land area, are Anaconda and Butte.
