When researching the largest cities in Texas, Research Maniacs
used two different criteria for determining the largest city in
Texas.
First, we looked at the population of all major cities in Texas from the
last census and sorted the cities accordingly.
Secondly, we looked at all the city maps in Texas to find how much land
area the cities cover and sorted the cities accordingly.
When we sorted the cities in Texas by population, we found that
Houston is the largest city in Texas. The five largest cities in
Texas, sorted by population, are Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, Austin, and Fort Worth.
When we sorted the cities in Texas by land area, we also found that
Houston is the largest city in Texas. The nineteen largest cities in
Texas, sorted by land area, are Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, El Paso, Corpus Christi, Brownsville, Lubbock
Abilene, Arlington, Amarillo, Beaumont, Waco, Port Arthur, Laredo, Plano, Grand Prairie, and Wichita Falls.
