Question: What year did Rosa Parks refuse to give up her seat at the bus?

Rosa Parks was an African-American civil rights activist that lived from 1913 to 2005. One day in Montgomery, Alabama she took Bus No. 2857 and settled down in her seat. When the bus driver asked her to give up her seat for a white passenger, she would not move and she was arrested.

Her determination and the attention it caused, resulted in that only one year later, the Montgomery, Alabama transportation system abolished their segregated seating laws.
