Amish Beliefs

Amish believe in God and take the Bible literally. Amish believe in separation of church and state. They do not think you should be baptized as a baby, but instead be baptized when you can make your own decisions.

Amish believe in being modest, quiet, and obedient. They value simplicity and humility. They are submissive to their leaders and live traditional family lives.

Amish believe in peace and respect for others. Crime and violence are extremely rare. They do not even believe in the military. They do not believe one should defend oneself. God will do what is right!

The Amish are conservative Christians, which means they do not believe in birth control or artificial insemination. Furthermore, they do not believe in help from others. Thus, they do not accept benefits from the Government such as food stamps or Social Security.

The bottom line: Amish are Christians who live a traditional family lifestyle.
