What are the primary colors? There are three primary colors. Primary colors are colors that can NOT be created by mixing other colors. The three primary colors are yellow, blue and red. You can use primary colors to make other colors.

Some may also consider black and white primary colors, because they cannot be created by mixing other colors either. Mixing black or white with another color makes the color darker or lighter.
