Let's narrow it down. First there are 365 or 366 days in a year,
which makes it 52 weeks. Second, each week has 5 workdays
(Monday through Friday.) Thus, the quick answer to "How many
business days in a year" is 52 x 5 = 260 days.
However, many do not count the 10 federal holidays as
business days. Thus, you can subtract those 10 days from 260
and you are left with 250 days.
To find out how many business days you personally work, you
would deduct your sick days, vacation days and so on. You could
also add weekends as "business days" if you work on those days.
PS. Because a year is slightly more than 52 weeks and the day of the
week the year starts on varies, the number of business days may be 2
days more or less than the numbers discussed above. Taking all that into
account, you work only about 65 percent of the days in any year.
