Who first landed on the moon?
Question: Who first landed on the moon?
You are probably thinking that Neil Armstrong
and Buzz Aldrin, on Apollo 11, were the first to land on the
moon back on July 20, 1969. Thus, the United States was the
first to land on the moon. That is correct if the question
is "What was the first manned mission to the moon?"
However, the United States was not the first to land
on the moon, if you include unmanned missions.
The Soviet Union was the first to land on the moon with
its unmanned Luna 2 mission. It happened on September 13, 1959.
