What is Zoning and why is it important to know?
The local government assigns different uses allowed for different lands in the area. Some are residential, some are light manufacturing, some are
retail business, and so on. It also specifies what kind of buildings can be on the land, how big the buildings can be and so on.
It is good idea to know the surrounding zoning laws of the property you are considering buying before you make an offer.
You do not want to move in, and then find out later that a sewage plant is planned for construction next door.
