used two different criteria for determining the largest city in

last census and sorted the cities accordingly.
Secondly, we looked at all the city maps in Arizona to find how much land
area the cities cover and sorted the cities accordingly.
When we sorted the cities in Arizona by population, we found that
Phoenix is the largest city in Arizona. The five largest cities in
Arizona, sorted by population, are Phoenix, Tucson, Mesa, Chandler, and Glendale.
When we sorted the cities in Arizona by land area, we also found that
Phoenix is the largest city in Arizona. The eleven largest cities in
Arizona, sorted by land area, are Phoenix, Buckeye, Tucson, Goodyear, Scottsdale, Peoria, Sierra Vista, Mesa, Yuma, Marana, and Eloy.
