What is Earth's Circumference?

Information about Earth's Circumference

We define the Earth's circumference as the distance around Earth at the Equator. The Earth's circumference is about 25,000 miles at the Equator.

That means that if you pave a road around the Equator and drive 60 miles an hour, it would take you about 416 hours to drive around our planet.

If you can get 20 miles to the gallon on your car, and gas is $4/gallon, then it would cost you $5,000 to drive the entire Equator road.

The average drivers in the US drive 13,000 miles per year. That means that the average person pretty much circles the globe in his or her car every two years.

If you do not want to take the time to drive around Earth, you could buy a Boeing 747 for 350 million dollars and fly around Earth. At 550 miles per hour, you can circle Earth with a Boeing 747 in about 45 hours.

Anyway, as stated above, the Earth's circumference is 25,000 miles.
