Difference Between Lamb And Sheep
What is the difference between Lamb And Sheep?
What is the difference between lamb and sheep?
Here we will look at lamb vs. sheep. The difference
is pretty simple. The lamb is young and the sheep
is old. The lamb is the baby and the sheep is
the parent. The lamb is the offspring of two sheep.
Basically, the difference between a lamb and a sheep
is 12 months. A sheep that is 12 months or younger is
called a lamb. A lamb older than 12 months is
called a sheep.
You get the idea, but do you know why the distinction
is so important? It is very important to the meat
industry. A lamb's meat is tender and tastes good,
while a sheep's meat is stronger and tougher and does
not taste as good. Obviously, lamb meat is more expensive
than sheep meat, and it is therefore important for
the meat industry to keep track of the lamb's age so
it does not become a sheep.
PS. Sheep meat is also called mutton.
