TO GO AGAIN
I was shocked. I didn’t read it out loud. I read something different.
“Dear Lola, How are you? I miss you, and yes I am feeling better. It is not your fault you hurt me. I healed right away. It was nothing major. Just a little bruise. I hope you write to me soon! I miss you terribly. Come visit in Hawaii soon. I will maybe visit Arizona too. Can I stay at your place? Sorry to ask myself over-I want to see you soon. I wish you were here. Love, Ali.”
“You went to Hawaii???” she asked in a horrified voice.
“Yeah,” I said slyly.
I walked up to my room. I was tired, so I wanted to go to sleep. I plopped down and lied my blonde-haired head down on my perfect, pink pillow. I closed my tired eyes, and fell into a deep Hawaii.
I never dreamed I would see Ali so fast again. I closed my eyes and hey! We were on the sandy beach! Ali walked up to me.
“Yesterday,” she began. “Was no biggie. Just a little ouch! I’m so sorry I made you feel bad. My mommy is always terrified over everything that happens to me. It was nothing compare to my broken arm! Mommy cried for days over me until I got my cast off. I KNOW she loves me. I love her to for loving me so much,” she finished, fluttering her small eyes furiously, and hugging herself.
“Um, Ali? You’re kinda turning into a braggart. No offense,” I said backing away a little.
“None taken. Does YOUR mom treat you bad? Does she not love you?” Ali sneered.
“NO!” I shrieked.
Ali was being mean.
“Why are you so mad at me? What did I do?”
”Oh, only basically push me in the ocean and make me almost drown. Mommy was terrified. I so take back what I said about the ‘no biggie’ thing. SUCH A LIE.”
I stared at her, with narrowed eyes.
“I din’t mean to!” I yelled!
By now, half the beach was staring at our little fight. But I didn’t care. I was going to fight Ali, and get a victory from it!
“Ok, Ok! Geez you little 5 year old,” Ali said.
“You’re 5 too ya know,” I said. “And you are evil,” I concluded.
“Oh, guess what?” Ali started. But she couldn’t hold on much longer.
She burst into sudden tears. She was trying to act all smart, but I got her cryin’. So yeah for me! I won!
“Ok! Cryer is the loser! I WIN! HA HA!” I screamed, leaving her cryin on the open sandy beach.
I looked back at her, running to my hotel. I wasn’t watching where I was going. So I unfortunately bumped into a heavy pillar, which sent me tumbling into the ocean water! I gasped for air. For being hurt, getting knocked down by a pillar, is not good when you’re in a deep part of the ocean and you’re not a good swimmer.
I never knew Ali would help me after that. But she did. Her mom came out of her house, and was telling Ali to go inside and take a bath, and get some hot chocolate and sit in the living room, and watch T.V. Her mom does care a whole lot about her-Ali was right on that one! Ok, back on track. So I’m stuck out in an ocean, hurt, and not a good swimmer, about to drown. Ali would’ve taken her moms advice, for if she didn’t see me. She tore off her dress, and she was in a bathing suit. She leaped over an old sweaty man sunbathing with a cigarette, and raced to the ocean to…to…help me.
She dived in the warm water, and dragged me to the sandy shore. I was choking up dirty ocean water.
“So sorry for what I said. Mommy wants me now. See her panting for me?” Ali asked.
But I wasn’t paying attention to her, I was laying head down on the-
I woke up just then. Panting with horror.
